Named after the 8 women who formed a human barricade and were run down, dragged, and maimed by a tractor during a miner’s strike in Corbin, British Columbia in 1935, this series of steel blades was forged from century-old scrap found on-site in Corbin. These blades conjure the parallels between weapon and tool; rending apart (destructive) vs. piercing through (transcendent)… just as the miners’ wives transformed their bodies from tools to weapons and eventually to symbols.
